The Critical Importance Of Internet Marketing Promotion Follow-Up

If you haven’t read part one or two in this series simply visit to get your free copy now which covers Discover How To Create Leads For Your Internet Marketing Promotion Business (part one) http://bit.ly/daxtTi And Following Up Until You Get Action In Your Internet Marketing Promotion Business (part two) http://bit.ly/agelHF

Following-up can be an acquired or innate skill that comes naturally to some and for others is a skill that takes time to develop over the course of their career. The Importance of follow-up in your business is huge because this is where the application of your skills and your ability to deliver the product/service become evident.

Whether you choose to follow up yourself or use a VA remember that little things can make a big difference in your internet marketing promotion business. Following up with your visitors to your blog is a simple way to show you care and also let them know you value them. You’ve already spent time and remember time is money to attract these leads. So don’t make the mistake of leaving them hanging after they have visited your blog. Just because someone hasn’t responded to one of your campaigns doesn’t mean that they don’t have an interest in your product or service — it may not have been convenient for them to act when they received your email.

It’s important to realise that you *will* get business from these prospects *if* you stay in contact with them. In fact, prospects need to hear from you multiple times before they actually buy: 2% of sales are made on the 1st contact. 3% of sales are made on the 2nd contact. 5% of sales are made on the 3rd contact. 10% of sales are made on the 4th contact. 80% of sales are made on the 5th-12th contact [Source: National Sales Association]

The importance of this cannot be underestimated. Time and time again internet marketing gurus tell you that the money is in the list. This is not by accident. We online marketing specialists know that this is fact. The more people you have on mailing lists that are interested in your products or services, the more sales you will make. And remember, the majority of this can be done automatically without you needing to be personally involved.

Follow up is one of the most powerful skills in business situations, yet many people fail at this simple task. A person can argue their schedule is so busy that they don’t have time. This excuse does not warrant any merit. If you feel that your busy schedule is hindering your follow-ups, then you need serious evaluation of your organizational skills and time management abilities.

A typical lead nurturing programme involves a series of letters, emails, case studies, success stories, articles, events, white papers, and webcasts. If you nurture your leads before selling, you’ll see more sales-ready leads, higher close ratios, a stronger sales pipeline and a shorter sales cycle.

Compared to all the other tasks, even the least amount of time spent on follow-up will still generate MORE MONEY than the rest. The 80/20 rule applies where 20% of the actual work generates 80% of the results this is scientifically proven in everything that people do. An autoresponder is one of the best tools you can use to automate this follow-up process.

Discover How To Qualify Your Leads For Maximum Leverage In Your Internet Marketing Promotion Business

In part two of this article series I am going to be covering how to qualify the leads you get at your blog. Before I do that though, if you haven’t already read part one in this series ‘Discover How to Create Leads for Your Internet Marketing Promotion Business’ be sure to do that first by simply visiting http://bit.ly/daxtTi

Now that you have done that, let’s continue. Knowing that it is vital to get traffic to your blog or you will simply be out of business is only part of the formula for your internet marketing promotion success. I can’t stress this enough that you need to have targeted traffic. This means quality over quantity here.

If you are only getting quantity traffic and not quality traffic to your blog you will not be see the results you hoped for with your internet marketing promotion. So how do we get that quality traffic? That is a great question and this is the three step process that I use to make sure I am not just getting loads of traffic to my site, but more importantly, it is qualified traffic.

STEP 1: Define your target market. When I teach small business classes on internet marketing strategies, I often ask participants the question, who are your customers? Who will buy your product?” I am often surprised that otherwise savvy small business people either have no idea who will buy from them, or they assume that ‘everyone’ will. The most successful small businesses understand that only a limited number of people will buy their product or service. The task then becomes determining, as closely as possible, exactly who those people are, and ‘targeting’ the business’s marketing efforts and dollars toward them.

In the last few weeks, I’ve been critiquing some pretty good copy. Very well-written and compelling. But if the conversion rate is low (hence, the reason why I was hired to conduct a critique consultation), it’s because these sales letters do not target the right audience for the offer, or the author and the copy fail to connect with their readers. Researching your customer in depth is vital to the success of your copy. It’s not only an important component of targeting and qualifying the best prospect for your offer, but also an effective way to discover new ideas, different angles, captivating storylines, unsought benefits, and appropriate length and language of your copy that will convert more.

STEP 3: Capture the traffic that goes to your blog. To build or to extend your client list, opt-in marketing is definitely the best solution. With opt-in marketing, you will get to collect names and email addresses of potential buyers, of course with their implied prior consent. As the list grows, you can further categorize it into various segments in terms of personal taste, buying preference, frequency of purchase, and so on. This benefit will enable you to plan ahead other strategies relating to the segmentation.

I would definitely advise you to also add an opt-in box to your blog if you don’t already have one. Because follow up is crucial. Research shows that sales people do not fully pursue around 70% of leads generated by marketing. That amounts to literally billions of wasted marketing dollars and time spent. When follow up though, don’t simply try and get the lead as your customer or client. Instead offer value to them so that they can clearly see why they should choose you instead of your competition to do business with.
