Generating traffic is a necessary task for every online marketer. The sad truth is that just having a great website is not enough. You’ll need to create a compelling reason to make people feel like they have a good reason to stop by your site in the first place. If you start leaving comments on blogs, you can get more traffic to your site. You have to put some thought into this, however. You have to make a meaningful comment, not just “great blog” or something like that. This kind of behavior will only make you look like a spammer. If you don’t want your posts to be deleted, you have to make relevant comments that respond to what others have written. You have to show the blog owner that you are really reading his blog and not just there to leave a link. You can also get more traffic this way, as people who read your comment may then click on your link to see your site. If you are a valued participant, there is also the chance that the blog owner will give you a place in his blogroll!

It’s important to check the links on your site to be sure they are working. If you have broken links this can make your website hard to navigate. You don’t want to encourage your visitors to leave, once that happens they may never visit again. Also, if you employ an SEO navigation structure to your site, broken links will stop the search engine spiders and that will not help your efforts.

Create profiles for yourself on social media networks. Do not underestimate the power of a Facebook or MySpace profile! Some internet marketers don’t see the relevance of these sites, but if you learn how to use them they can generate lots of traffic and sales for you! Take a look at the profiles others in your niche have created and learn for yourself what works and what doesn’t. Social networking sites give you the opportunity to meet new people, who can become repeat customers!

People just don’t realize how many different ways exist to create traffic to a site. The real trick to traffic generation is to keep at it. An hour or two every day, and you’ll see a huge difference in a little while. Keep your eye on the ball because each visitor means the possibility of making a sale. Always persist because if you do, then you’re already ahead of so many others who quit.
